This heirloom shelling pea keeps its cool, but can also take the heat! Wando is an excellent choice for warm climates or for late planting in any climate. Sow this variety just like you would any other pea. They are cold tolerant for early planting just like other pea varieties, but they are also more heat tolerant. Introduced in 1943, Wando Peas are a cross between Laxton's Progress (an English heirloom pea) and Perfection (a New England heirloom).
